The other weekend the three of us were out for Matts cousins wife’s 40th.
I have vowed to myself that I’m not buying any new outfits in March or April so had to do the unthinkable and wear something I already own.
I know right? Sacrilege.
Lucky for me I like to have a few different dresses to hand that are both ‘classic’ in style and flattering for when you’re feeling a bit ‘meh’.
This dress in particular is probably my fave of that category and one I will keep until it is just threads and can no longer be worn.
It is a knee length dark navy polka dot dress, that cinches in at the waist which, along with the flattering bunny tie neckline and puff sleeves, flatters a gal like me who has a few curves to cover.
It is also super comfy which is a win win. I love wearing it with heels (as seen here) but also dressing it down with Dr Martens too (which I admit I did do later in the night).
I also took this dress with me when Matt and me went on our first weekend away together to San Marino last year, so I know I will hold on to it for sentimental reasons too.
Another thing I was impressed with this night was I managed to successfully apply false lashes for the first time in a million years, and without one sitting completely differently to the other or glueing my eye together.
I used to be a pro at applying them in my clubbing days but those days were loooong ago so it’s safe to say, I’m out of practice. I found the trick was to allow plenty of time so I wasn’t rushing and it seemed to work out OK (this time!).
Savannah wore a New Look dress she bought with Christmas money, along with her pink patent Doc Martens. The dress is so cute as it is a shirt playsuit with a long skirt over the top.
Matty looked dapper as always in his trendy checked ‘grandad’ jacket and a navy top with skinny jeans and boots.
If you like the look of this dress, you will be pleased to hear it is STILL available on asos AND it is on sale. It is a Miss Selfridge dress and so well made so I would recommend it to anyone (sizes available are limited now though).
Have you got outfits / dresses that are your ‘go to’ when you don’t know what to wear?
